Adding visual walls could be super cool. Just section off parts of your field of view when you don't want to see something. Atm I am sitting in a wall nook in Fiji. It could be nice if I could wall off the front of the booth I am in. Or block out my peripheral vision. Blur out everything that isn't my laptop screen (some people will call this silly and making yourself situationally vulnerable, but so do noise cancelling headphones. I have the right to deprive as many of my senses as I want. Until our world is perpetually full of sensory delights I will be removing as many as necessary until morale improves.)
Remove completely! Would be cool but what if you forget it's there! Maybe a warning should be present? Or will we adapt? There could just be a proximity detection where it snaps back in to reality if you get close enough. I guess we learnt to adapt to not hearing sound.
